"Steven heads to the woods to train with a powerful mentor"
As an Episode Director, I was in charge of breaking down the storyboard for the Layout & Paint, Character & Props, and Storyboard Revisions department, assigning tasks that elevated the storytelling with acting, color, and design choices.
In collaboration with Art Director, Liz Artinian and Background Painter, Melissa King, we curated color palettes that reflected Steven's emotional arc - culminating in a cinematic stormy sequence that mirrored his internal turmoil.
"Fragments" was nominated for a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Short Form Animated Program by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences in Sep 2020.
